Muffin’s Halo For Blind Dogs, helps vision impaired animals like Maggie Mae and Bogart navigate their way around the kennels and sanctuary. Second Chances for Blind Dogs is Muffin’s Halo’s non-profit that donates halos to blind dogs and shelters.
Maggie Mae, for those not familiar with her, is blind in both eyes. While Bogart isn’t blind, he has some neurological issues that affect his sight causing him to lose his sense of direction. Having a Muffin’s Halo angel wings helps Maggie Mae and Bogart navigate their surroundings and keep them from bumping into walls and avoid injuries.

Backstory
Although he’s not blind, Bogart has some neurological issues as a result of having suffered from Distemper.
Bogart came to us as a stray, much like all the other rescues in our sanctuary. He was rescued on March 10, 2013. Bogart suffered third degree burns on his body caused by someone who poured boiling water on him. He spent several weeks at the vet and soon recovered.
At one point, Bogart had won an award for thwarting a robbery, when a couple of men tried to get away with some items from the shelter. It was a very proud moment for Bogart, but especially for us.
Sadly, he got sick and was initially misdiagnosed. Once he was treated for Distemper, and survived, it left Bogart unable to walk on his own and with severe muscle twitching. He underwent therapy and is now able to walk on his own, and the muscle twitching has improved significantly to the point that it’s hardly noticeable. But, needless to say, this was all heartbreaking for us.
The reason we feel he would benefit from getting a Muffin’s Halo is due to his uncoordinated movements.Bogart tends to lose his direction when walking, with a Muffin’s Halo, it would protect his head from bumping into things.
