“Dear Angels,
I received a Halo today for my foster dog Jack Sparrow thanks to your generosity. I couldn’t believe how fast he took to wearing it, nor how he felt confident enough to walk from one room to another faster.
He easily navigated around the space heater, which we had just removed from storage and plugged in because of sudden low temperatures. That possible injury just didn’t happen.
The Halo didn’t stop Jack from eating dinner or drinking water and didn’t get in the way when he took a nap in the open crate. I believe he has a much better chance for adoption now that he has the tools needed to safely navigate around unfamiliar areas.”
It’s a wonderful invention.

Backstory
“Jack Sparrow was a stray at a Detroit-area animal shelter and diagnosed as old, blind and with a heart defect. My rescue asked if I would foster him as a hospice dog. I took him to my own vet for a physical and discovered that his only serious issue is blindness i both eyes from dry-eye. He needs daily drops.
A balanced diet cleared up the bald spot and seborrhea on his back and a good grooming let us all see what a loving little doll he can be. I must limit his wandering space in my home to three rooms because he bumps into my old-house doors, panics, paces and cries. He freezes in unfamiliar places. I always leash him to go outside and very gradually, over a month’s time, he has walked the perimeter of my yard. It’s always at a freeze and move pace.
I encourage him to go UP the steps to my door to keep his muscles toned and build confidence. I’m training him to recognize simple voice commands and “walkies” makes him move just a tad faster. My rescue’s goal ( Furget Us Not –based in Hazel Park, Mi.) is to turn him into an adoptable dog someday. I only foster one dog at a time so there is no deadline.
From what I’ve read in testimonials, the Muffin’s Halo might give him the confidence to explore his world more. He will then be a healthier, happier. dog.”
