Update
Basil got his Halo today. Thank you to all the angels who contributed. It has already helped him a great deal he has been walking around the house and on the patio and he does not crash into things anymore. He has walked and walked and walked and walked and now he is taking a nap in my lap. Thanks to Silvie Bordeaux for all you have done for blind dogs
Backstory
“A few months ago I noticed that Basil was acting very strange and depressed. He seemed to just sit and stare at the floor. I took him to the vet and they said that he was totally blind from cataracts. He also has hypothyroid for which he is on medication.
Basil is active most of the time and he actually runs places. I have to make sure that everything is in its place and does not get moved. He is however losing his way and bumping into things that are in their normal place. In the late evening he mostly likes to sleep and tells me when it’s time to take him to bed. He sleeps with me along with a couple of my other dogs. I have 11 dogs and most of them it seems are just about in a hospice mode and are on a lot of medication. I am 70 years old and this has put a financial hardship on me but I take care of my dogs before myself. Basil also insists on going for a ride in the car whenever he can. For some reason my other dogs do not like him since he has become blind.”
