Backstory
Sniffels came into my life April of 2003. He became my best friend and companion. In 2004 I went through a very hard divorce from my children’s father. I quickly went into a deep depression. Sniffels even being so young knew I was emotionally not well. He constantly was by my side. He would make me smile when I felt like crying.
In 2007 our lives were changed when I found my current husband and Sniffels new daddy. Our lives were good and started our adventure as an army family.
In January 2012 I noticed Sniffels left eye looked scratched. We loaded him up and went to his vet. After tests and exam, the vet stated that his eye needed removed. I broke down and felt at a loss. The vet gave us an estimate of the costs which was a lot for us. Sniffels daddy said we will find a way. The next morning he sold his motorcycle to make sure my baby could get the surgery and be ok. Sniffels did great through the surgery and seemed to be fine for awhile.
A few months later we noticed he seemed to be having problems seeing out of his right eye. Back to his vet we went. Then the news I didn’t want to hear. His vision was failing due to age and having to compensate for losing the other eye. I then vowed to Sniffels that I was his eyes now.
In 2013 my husband was hurt in the army and was released from duty. Our lives have changed but Sniffels always shows us how to go on.
We make sure we keep his surroundings always stay the same and guide him with our voices. It is breaking my heart seeing him walk into things. I know an angel halo would help him in so many ways. Please help my angel!
