Backstory
I am very involved in rescue and got wind of a Maltese mix that was having a difficult time being adopted out. He had been returned multiple times. My sisters we’re looking to add to their family, and I knew that with my animal knowledge and their dedication we could help Norton acclimate.
We know that he was blind from birth. He was left at a bus stop when the driver told his young female owner he could not come on the bus. It was witnessed by the right people luckily. The rescue he ended up with got in touch with her eventually but of course she didn’t want or deserve him back. Norton is well adjusted to his blindness in that he doesn’t have personality changes (as far as we know – he has always been this w
ay – he has been part of the family for a year ) he is just rather clumsy and for some reason has not / cannot mapped the house.
We think a halo would be beneficial to him before any major injuries happen. We are also hopeful that if he does gain confidence it will help us with some fear based aggression towards people that he has. He loves people just sometimes lack confidence to be handled.
