Backstory
Hi! My name is Jacki and I am with the rescue ARRF, Atlantic Rottweiler rescue and friends. We are a 501(c)3 rescue which started out as a breed specific rescue and have since expanded to an all breed rescue. We have a very special little blind shih tzu named Glinda in our program.
Glinda was found as a stray at a rural shelter in our area, she was severely matted painfully infected eyes among a host of other issues. We can only imagine the life she had in her short years (she is only 3ish) before us, she was terrified to be barely touched. Due to this we opted to have her eyes removed since they were terribly painful for her and we could not administer her meds. She has come a long way in our program to trust her foster dad but that is it.
To be groomed she has to be put all the way under due to her fear aggression. She will probably never be adoptable but has sanctuary in her foster home because we love her no matter what. Just recently she has allowed her foster dad to touch her with a comb which is huge for her. She is doing ok without her eyes but gets scared when she hits things even if it is a long blade of grass.
We think that she could learn to wear her halo to protect her from her fear of bumping into things. Thank you for your consideration and any help would be appreciated.
