Update
Hello all, really sorry it’s been so hard this week. Losing Nori on Friday hit us really hard and still coming to terms with it all. Have some really awful tragic news for you guys. With an extremely heavy heart I have to tell you that Lainy passed away at home on Sunday. It was a sudden unexpected death and has honestly broken many hearts. Lainy was the most amazing selfless woman you’d ever meet and would drop everything and juggle things about for any animal in desperate need of help. We don’t know what happened yet and as you can imagine this is a really tough time for us all. Will try to keep her good work going. xxx

Backstory
“Nori was found wondering streets in Leeds by a dog warden, he was taken to vet but could only be given medication to make him comfortable as by law owner has to agree to treatment. As a stray that was all that could be done and he was then taken to a pound (https://www.facebook.com/groups/111215415649948/ )
They were great! Most pounds don’t do what they did and a dog in Nori’s state would have done his 7 days in pound by law then been put to sleep. But they put a plea out on the Animal team rescue register (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Animal-Team-Rescue-Register/233383466745037 ), l was tagged in the post. Sadly rescues have no money or space to take on dogs in Nori’s state, l was no way going to turn my back and say no, even though l had no free space or money in kitty, l will do anything to get it and l said yes to taking him on. Soon as his 7 compulsory days in pound were up l drove up to Sheffield from Corby, Northampton to get him, on 9th of December.
l took him straight to my vet and we decided not to remove his eyes, blood tests and biopsy show big problems with infections etc, both his retinas are detached and the veins in his eyes are totally destroyed! Many sores from blisters etc, so he was on antibiotics and pain killer. Tests on his eyes suggest they cause him no pain, his nose did but he was put on high dose of steroids. l have worked on giving him organic to let his system rest from chemicals. His feed is made up by our local Butcher, all minced white meat and a mix of organic veggies, creams etc.
Nori has improved 100%, so many have fallen in love with this big boy, he has such a long way to go but has already come so far! Right now we still have no real answers to whats caused his horrific injuries – yes neglect and abuse is involved 100%, tests done so far have no conclusive answers though. Akitas can get an immune problem, but the tests and biopsy don’t confirm that as an issue, so to date being the 1/01/2015 I’m still n the dark and using my years of helping abused animals to help Nori in best way l know how, this is Noris Story and you can follow his progress and see how he goes in life.”
