Update
“Thank you so much, I am literally crying because of your compassion and the dog’s owner’s compassion. Believe me, I don’t ordinarily cry over gifts, but this means he won’t keep bumping into the iron fence at the dog park. I try to warn him, but he doesn’t always listen, and he loves to wander free there.
I will get all that you need ASAP. Again thank you and please tell the other owner that I am forever grateful, but sorry that he had to lose his dog in order for Shadow to get this wonderful gift.”

Backstory
“Shadow has been my best friend (along with Mickey, the cat) for one year plus one month. I adopted him because he was blind and getting up there in years, we golden agers have to stick together. He is just so wonderful, he’s obedient and sweet. I think that he may have been abused as he shies away from anyone new and doesn’t trust men or children, plus his reaction when I had to yell his name was awful, he utterly collapsed as if I had shot him. Needless to say I am very careful with how I call him. He doesn’t seem to know how to play or know what to do when I buy him a chew bone. He does like to play with other dogs, though I have to watch him so he doesn’t run into anything. He is the most wonderful dog I’ve ever had and I’ve had pretty wonderful dogs in the past. I don’t know how his owners could have given him up, they said it was because they couldn’t take him with him. I don’t think that is true just from the way he acts. I hope he gets a lot of votes because living on a fixed income I really can’t afford the halo for him, he’s 88 lbs, a big dog, actually the size of a miniature horse. He really deserves the halo, but I imagine everyone who enters this think the same about their dog.”
