Gerry

Update

“Thank you angels! The entire Saving Grace family is so happy that Gerry was chosen to receive a halo. Gerry was quite excited to get to go exploring this afternoon. We can’t wait to watch Gerry‘s confidence grow with his halo as he searches for his fur-ever home. Thank you again!”

Backstory 4th July
“Gerry joined Saving Grace Animal Rescue when he was pulled from a shelter in TX and made his long journey to MD this past spring. He is heartworm positive, has arthritis in his rear legs/hips, has lots of lumps and bumps, and if that wasn’t enough, is blind. We also say he has selective hearing which is an improvement from how he was found originally.

Gerry currently lives with his foster mom, Lesley, and four other dogs. Despite all his medical issues, he is quite a happy (and handsome) boy (though he can get a little snappy when startled). He loves to spend his days sunbathing on the deck, wandering the yard, and lounging by the fan. His favorite past time, however, is using that amazing nose to find food! He has been known to steal his foster mom’s dinner or two.

Gerry’s bloodwork has since come back with good levels and his heart looked good on X-rays which was a relief. There was a slight decline in the lungs which may just be due to age. He currently swims every 2 weeks to help his arthritis and loves it. Soon he will begin heartworm treatment.

As we help Gerry find his forever family, a Muffin’s Halo would give him confidence as he navigates at adoption events, medical appointments, and hopefully soon, his forever home.”
