Update
Thank you to volunteer Tatyana Zicko who took it upon herself to reach out to Muffin’s Halo For Blind Dogs to ask if they’d donate one of their clever devices for Brownie, our blind dog. This “halo” protects him from injury when he’s out walking. We think it’s perfectly fitting that Brownie should have a halo!
Backstory
Brownie was brought to Marin Humane Society on November 1, 2014 by neighbors of the owner (the shelter told me their story was strange, but they said they were neighbors and not the owner). The shelter attempted to contact the person who they were told was the owner by phone and by mail multiple times. They received no response and Brownie was declared a stray.
The mandatory time limit for holding a stray dog expired, so Brownie was evaluated for adoption and passed. It is estimated that Brownie is 8 years- and 1-week-old and a Pit Bull and Boxer mix. He weighs 56 pounds and is blind in both eyes.
He is currently undergoing vet care for mild skin issues and will have a tooth removed. Once he is ready, he will go up for adoption at Marin Humane Society. Marin Humane Society is located in Novato, California.
Brownie is very affectionate. He loves being petted and cuddling. He is known as a being a sweetheart and is favorite among staff and volunteers. A Muffin’s Halo could greatly improve his life.
