Backstory
“Benny developed diabetes and cataracts several months ago, when his long-time owner was 96 years old. Unfortunately, he lost his sight before his diabetes could be brought under control, when very high pressure developed in his eyes.
His owner died recently and Ms. Lilli, who had been helping with his care, adopted him, along with all of his expenses. Along with insulin, blood sugar testing supplies and syringes, he needs two pricey medications for his eyes. Benny is a happy dog and has adapted well.
Benny is very active and has been adept at adapting to his blindness. However, he still runs into a lot of things, sometimes when he’s trotting along at quite a fast pace. One of his eyes was recently injured when he ran into part of a rose bush.
He goes for long daily walks and loves to get out and meet people and dogs.”
