Update
Bert got great news today! That big, nasty ulcer has completely healed (finally) and now we can now start using eye drops that contain steroids to get rid of the red inflammation. And he has a wonderful lady that wants to be his forever Mom too! What a fantastic day it has been for this sweet boy!! ?

Bert wants to give a big Thank You! to Ms. Carol and all the folks at Muffin’s Halo For Blind Dogs. We received his Halo this afternoon and he’s already gaining confidence while roaming the house. No more bumping his head! Boston Terrier Rescue East Tennessee wants to send out of huge thank you for donating this awesome halo for Bert. The kindness is beyond measure and Bert is totally loving his new found freedom with his halo
Backstory
The owner that surrendered Bert to the rescue got him from her neighbor where he was being kenneled outside all day. As you can imagine Arizona isn’t really conducive to having an outside dog. She took him in and got him examined at a free vet. He has 2 ear infections and is hard of hearing, his coat is thin and he is very flaky, and he is of course blind. Her dogs were not accepting him and so she had to surrender him to the rescue. This is where we step in.
Bert is a Boston Terrier, and we believe he is approx 10 years old. He is a sweetheart and loves bananas and cantaloupe We have bathed him and bought a brush that will help with his flakiness, we are treating his ears and he will be seen by our vet later this week. I have a feeling he will be diagnosed with cushings disease but we will see for sure in the next couple of days. He is struggling severely getting around. He moves slow due to his other issues which I have decided is a blessing as he is constantly running into things. He does ok on a leash but just can’t manage when he is off leash. I had heard of the Halo for dogs and believe this would be perfect. It hurts my heart seeing him struggle like this and I want him to be all that he can be and Muffin’s Halo would be a perfect start.”
