Backstory
We went to the shelter to pull several other dogs. I saw Alexis and asked if we could have her. I was told ‘no’ as her owners had paid for euthanasia because they were tired of putting money into ‘a ******* dog who can’t see a thing’.
I then asked if she came up missing, what would happen. Our shelter contact left the room and we took her. Her vision at the time was partial in one eye, it is now almost (if not totally) gone. She is also going deaf due to a lack of regular cleanings and untreated ear infections. She is a doll though. She loves everyone, doesn’t let her inability to see and hear slow her down at all! She bumps into everything lately. She used to be able to remember where things were and she doesn’t anymore, so she needs some help to guide her!
