Backstory
“My gal sassy is a 8 years old Queensland Heeler. Approx 2 years ago she went blind suddenly and after numerous tests etc vet determined she had SARDS with absolutely no vision. She is 100% blind. Since then her activity level went to almost zero. We have helped her learn her yard and home as best we can but she still bumps into things and sometimes causing injures ?. My son found her at age roughly 3-4 wks (vets guess) wondering the desert. We tried to find owners but nobody claimed her and after a few months she bonded to me (which is also around time I was first diagnosed with cancer). She has been my Velcro companion ever since.
I am a single mother. I am also permanently disabled and my son and I survive on 708 a month. (We do not receive any gov benefits except my social security) Which is why I haven’t bought her a halo. I was told by many to have my girl put down but other than her blindness she is a happy girl with much life and love still in her.
I sure hope you can help my gal get back her confidence and feel safer in her enviroment. Right now she gets to afraid to even play anymore let alone go for walks which she loved. She is a love bug, loves to cuddle up and even though she cant see her favorite movie anymore she still will cuddle up and listen to her snow buddies and santa paws movies.”
