“When my daughter and her father chose our Spyro eleven years ago, he was the runt of a litter of 5. We were not able to take Spyro home that day because he still needed 3 more weeks before he could be weaned from his momma.
What we chose was an extremely energetic, vocal, loving, overprotective but friendly, loyal companion. My daughter would set up obstacle courses for him to run through to play a friendly game of tag. Oh how he jumped, soared, and crawled to get through the obstacle course while chasing after my daughter. My daughter grew up and grew out of playing tag with her dog. But not momma (me). I continued this to keep him “alive” and active. Not only did Spyro love his obstacle course, but he loved being the instigator when it came to him wanting to wrestle.
Three years later we brought home another female miniature schnauzer. They both loved to wrestle day and night. When Zaida had enough, he would bring us a toy so we could wrestle with him and play tug of war. Spyro always loved to be outside whenever my mother was watering. He loved to “bite” the water. He also loves to sing like a canary and tell all the minute anyone walks through the door.
Well two years ago Spyro was diagnosed with diabetes. Within a matter of months, he lost his eyesight. His spirits however remained intact. He still loves to run through obstacle courses, even though he bumps into everything. He still loves to “bite” water, even though he bites the air. He still likes to bring you whatever is in reach and he can get his mouth on to play tug of war. He’s attempted to play tug of war with table ends, plant holders, books or whatever he thinks is toy. He still loves to wrestle even though his sisters have no mercy on his blindness or old age.
Lastly, he still loves to “tell all” the minute we walk in the door. Even more so now that he is old and grumpy and just wants peace and quiet. However, the older my Spyro gets, he continuously bumps into more things and has difficulty finding his way. His smelling might be another one of his senses that is failing him. I ask for your assistance in helping my Spyro live his life to the fullest and not be limited to what he is capable of doing because of his loss of sight.
His time here on earth is limited and I don’t want him to be hurting more than he already is by continuously bumping and hurting his head. My Spyro will soon be fragile just like that little runt we chose. Having Muffin’s Halo Wings will lift his spirits up. It will help him gain his confidence back and be more active than he is now. It will help him live the remaining of his beautiful life to the fullest. I ask you to please consider my Spyro as a possible candidate for donation of Muffin’s Halo Wings. I will wholeheartedly appreciate it and will gladly pay it forward.”
