Update
For the Angels at Second Chances For Blind Dogs~ Thank you so much for donating a Muffins Halo for my little Tasia. We’ve been using it for a few days now and she’s starting to get the hang of it.
Sincerely grateful, Heather and Tasia ??
Backstory
Tasia is a 13.5 y.o. Chihuahua. She was diagnosed with diabetes 6 years ago. I’ve been administering her insulin shots twice a day every day since then. I gladly do this for her and have not traveled or left my home more than 12 hrs. Soon after her diagnosis she became about 80% blind. Last summer she suffered a ketoacidosis event which took the remainder of her vision. She used to at least be able to maneuver her way fairly well but now she bumps into everything and gets herself stuck in corners. It breaks my heart every time. When I’m home I tend to carry her everywhere but she really wants to run around still. She is my best friend in the whole world (just ask my husband
)
Tasia is fairly active for her age. She does sleep a lot now. She takes walks on a leash everyday as I have trained her to navigate by my finger snaps so she knows when a curb is coming. She loves to play fetch with kitty cat balls that have bells inside. She loves to ride in my bike basket (especially down hill) Weeeeee! I was searching for a ball that makes noise on E bay for my blind fur baby because she used to love playing fetch. The Muffin’s Halo appeared in the search. I never knew such a thing existed. Thank You for considering Tasia for a Muffin’s Halo today. ~Heather Gersztyn
